I was reminded recently of this thought by Anne Ortland
“Are you the kind of woman, when you walk into the room you say, ‘Oh, here I am!’
Or are you the kind of woman, when you walk into the room, that says, ‘Oh, there you are!’”
Pride and self pity can make me the first type of woman. Often, I'm not saying "Oh, here I am; everyone turn and look" as much as I am saying "Here I am; why doesn't anyone notice me?"
The second woman has no thought for herself, only for how she can minister to the others in the room. How does God want her to love her neighbor in this situation?
