1. Are you trying to get your brother/sister/friend in trouble?
It is not kind to try to get your brother in trouble. This violates "be kind one to another" and "love your neighbor as yourself".
2. Have you talked to your brother/sister/friend about the problem first?
The biblical method of problem solving always starts with going to the person and then bringing in a witness (Matthew 18).
If both of these check out, thank the child for alerting you to a potentially dangerous situation : ) and go save the other child from killing him/herself or destroying personal property.
